Anyone who enjoys ice fishing can relate to Donald Blakney's print ICE CASTLE ON MILLE LAC'S LAKE. As the northern and walleye swim beneath the thick layer of ice, the fishermen above set up various types of extravagent fishing shacks. At times there are more than 5,500 ice houses set up on Mille Lac's Lake, offering some of the best winter fishing Minnesota has to offer. The fish houses vary from the very primitive to the most elaborate home away from home including curtains, carpeting, beds, lighting and heaters. Sometimes these "ice castles" even have a separate bathroom.
