“The ruffed grouse or partridge, as we incorrectly call them in these parts, is one of the top gamebirds across the northern U.S. and into Canada. To create a ‘Winter Wonder’ atmosphere for these three grouse, I chose a setting of a small runoff through the woods in mid-March after a heavy, wet snowfall.”
