Dave Barnhouse has captured the Salvation Army doing their holiday duties and donating to those in need during the cold winter months.
"The local farmer on his Oliver tractor has donated time and equipment for the annual Salvation Army sponsored holiday hayrides. On this chilly evening the wagon has stopped at The Salvation Army building on Main Street for a cup of hot chocolate. After a brief rest they will continue their ride, laughing and shouting, through the snowy streets, creating fond memories for the watching adults. This nostalgic painting reminds us that young people are the precious resource of an entire community, and that The Salvation Army is 'on guard' not only in times of crisis, but also in the quieter moments of everyday life."
